Evaluation Phase Begins for a Cruise Port in Bocas
The Ministry of Environment has started evaluating the environmental impact of a cruise port construction project in Bocas del Toro, Panama.
The port will accommodate two Viking-type cruise ships with an investment of around $6 million. The project includes renovating the Panama Maritime Authority building and constructing a concrete dock, a reinforced slab with a restaurant, and a floating dock.
The port is expected to contribute $5.9 million annually during the construction phase and generate economic benefits of $14.7 million over the first three years of operation.
